MY STORY
My name is Tess Homen, and I am a rising junior at George Mason University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. With my degree, I plan a future of being a mediator or palliative care specialist. So that patients I interact with may better communicate their wishes to their families, and navigate their way through difficult diagnoses, avoiding as much mental, emotional, and physical pain as possible. I currently work part time at an Assisted Living facility. This work experience has given me an understanding of the needs of those who require care and a deeper understanding of the distress and pain disease causes in every aspect of the household. Looking towards the future, I am determined to complete my degree and use my knowledge to contribute positively to those who are in these painful circumstances.
